five grapes with classic style...
cinq cepages

Cinq Cepages is the flagship wine of California's Chateau St. Jean. Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren selects fruit from the finest vineyards to craft a wine that year after year defines classic with its style. The vineyard sources for the current vintage are from the Alexander, Knights and Sonoma Valleys. 2006 is iconic Cinq Cepages with signature notes of blackberry, raspberry, creamy chocolate and violet. The flavors are complex, and rich with dark fruit and dense with supple tannins that rest on the palate for a lengthy finish.

Cinq Cepages is a well styled red blend, using the Bordeaux grape varieties of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Each component is aged for two years in small French and American oak barrels before blending; after blending it's in bottle for another six months before release.
