I've been drinking this '07 Chard from Echeverria on the colder side, for the last month; almost non-stop. It's been great with sushi, hot and cold pasta, salads and grilled everything. The wine is very clean with subtle acidity and loaded with expressive fresh fruit... at just about $11.00 this is an inexpensive luxury we should all enjoy.

Banknote Wine Company The Vault Zinfandel Blend 2006 USA > California > Napa while the blend is very similar, the wine is a bit more elegant and livelier than 'the prisoner' it's certainly a red I would easily recommend... my rating 4/5

a correct red...
this carmenere leads with purple and garnet colors that frame wonderful aromas of fresh sage, dried herbs and blueberry; the flavors are round and ripe with friendly tannin and a smooth slightly smoky finish that ends with good balance and length. my rating 3/5

Barolo Bricco Boschis Cavallotto 2004 Italy > Piedmont > Barolo Cavallotto has always been a favorite producer, and in past vintages it may be said that the wine was a bit 'old school' but this '04 effort shows polish and elegance. This is a bottle that will turn a small meal or modest gathering into an occasion... my rating 4/5

Masia D Bielsa Campo de Borja 2007 Spain > Aragón > Campo de Borja With caressing aromas, this red is all about supple cherry and blackberry flavors embraced with a hint of pepper. When most talk about the region 'campo de borja' borsao and tres picos is almost eponymous, but the 'masia d bielsa' is also a wine to be talked about... now. my rating 3.5/5

Enric Nadal Rigol Cava Nadal Brut NV Spain > Cava Rigol is fresh and energetic Cava with a youthful balance of fruit and galleta (spanish biscuit) brought together with good sparkle... it's 11.5 per-cent alcohol and 88.5 pure fun. my rating 3/5

Vina Echeverria Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 Chile > Central Valley > Curico Valley > Molina This is a great example of good quality and value from Chile. The Echeverria 2004 Reserva Cabernet is both friendly, and with its bottle age complex enough to engage all cab lovers. If you are a stubborn California Cabernet only type... you will be surprised by what it delivers to your palate, but also by how little it costs. my rating 3.5/5

Patz & Hall Chardonnay Dutton Ranch 2006 USA > Russian River Valley Patz & Hall and their partners create impressive Burgundian styled Chards and Pinots that balance elegant acidity with sophisticated fruit. This 2006 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay lifts you with its aromas of lush tropical fruit, and range of beautiful smoky and citrus flavors. Compared to many other 'hard to find label' Chardonnays in this premium category, and at about 35.00 this wine is a find. What makes this wine so great is that it's distinct, truly expressive and fresh. my rating 4/5

Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah Ethos 2005 USA > Oregon > Columbia Valley Chateau Ste. Michelle is Washington’s largest winery, and for such a large enterprise the elements of this 2005 Syrah are dramatic. Ethos is rich with flavors of earth, pepper and black fruits with a finish that comforts you like a favorite cashmere sweater. This effort is successful in bridging new and old world style with its expression of fundamental character. my rating 4/5
